Rich Friesen is an innovator of trader training systems, financial software design and development, and intellectual property creation and management. He founded Friesen Consulting in 2001 in response to the needs of floor traders to thrive in an electronic environment.

Rich Friesen started his consulting firm after founding and building ePIT Systems, a software company that produced exchange software solutions for financial institutions. As an innovator in electronic exchanges, he has received seven significant patents on electronic trading interfaces.

Prior to ePIT Systems, Mr. Friesen founded, built and sold Trade Management LLC, an options and equity trading firm. As a member of the Pacific Exchange, he also served as Exchange Director. While a director, he served as chairman of the New Products Committee, created the Pacific Technology Index and chaired the Long-term Planning Committee. He also served with the CFTC on the Technology Advisory Committee and the CFTC Technology Advisory Sub-Committee on Protocol and Content Standardization.

In addition to leading new product development for regulated exchanges, Rich designed training programs for independent training organizations. He has traded grains on the floor of the Chicago Board of Trade and futures on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. Rich's introduction to the financial community was as a futures broker for Merrill Lynch.

Rich holds a B.A. in Philosophy and a Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology along with certification in Gestalt Therapy and Neurolinguistic Programing. His background in psychology has been instrumental in his development of the training programs that produce profitable traders and trading systems, and in making behavioral finance practical for his clients with his innovative Mind Muscles™ training program.

Mr. Friesen, past President of Marin Toastmasters, is a popular and engaging speaker on topics of politics, behavioral finance, and business and personal development.
